Problems connecting laptop to DVR / TV?
I try to connect my laptop to my TV. My laptop (Dell Inspiron 5100) has S-Video (female). Now my TV does not have one, but my DVR DIRECT TV has an S-Video (female) output. I tried connect the two men ended the S-Video cables to each device. The alternation and nothing. I changed my TV Line 1 Line 2 (tv show) and nothing. Help! What am I doing wrong? BTW, is an RCA TV. There is a flat screen. Just a regular TV with a Direct TV DVR on top that feeds to the video age. I tried to adjust the resolution and also I tried to change the screen the secondary display and nothing, nothing, nothing! Help! I think it may have to do with the changes. I have seen on utube when opinions switch Rocking video BTWN, mine goes to line 1, line 2 = TV and VCR opinions.
Try your laptop monitor in the setup menu using only the TV as a monitor. But if you have an expensive TV (LCD or plasma), there might be a good idea because of the possibility ghost images. Ghost image is when you are scanning lines or bars on the screen for long. The scanning lines engraved permanently in the image on your TV and look really bad. But if you still want to go with my suggestion. If this fails, you can send me an email and help you solve.
